Alice and Matt’s Contemporary Walnut Kitchen

Alice and Matt had an amazing vision for what they wanted and their pinterest boards and research gave us no end of inspiration. But one of the most enjoyable and challenging tasks when bringing a bespoke kitchen together is balancing the different materials so they compliment one another. This one uses woods, metal, concrete and glass to name a few.

The aim was to create something uniquely ‘them’ and a really special space. It would sit in a stunning new extension at the rear of a Georgian Terrace and needed to do the space justice. We settled on a combination of walnut veneer, handle-less cabinets and painted v-groove cabinets for contrast. We also brought in a beaded glass front for the beautiful drinks cabinet housed in a black powder-coated steel frame as an alternative texture. Finally, the polished concrete floors and exposed timber roof lantern set our cabinetry off beautifully.

The two highlights for us are the bespoke all-wood pull out pantry we built, as the plastic equivalent just didn’t feel to the standard we wanted. And Douglas the dog has his very own draw. Combining materials and overcoming the challenges a city-centre house can throw up all go to make this a truly ambitious project, but one we, and Matt and Alice are thoroughly proud of.
