Ian and Katia set us the challenge of creating a contemporary double kitchen for them. Their Brazilian roots meant they loved to BBQ, and so as well as a main kitchen, they wanted an indoor BBQ space for entertaining. Working with a designer in Sao Paulo, we concentrated on making these two spaces flow and compliment one another.
The style of the end result also reflects the colourful and vibrant vision the couple had. We used warm greens alongside handle-less oak veneer on the flat-fronted cabinets. Topped with a quartz worktop, we also added powder-coated steel frameworks to the central island to create an eclectic, characterful space.
Functionally, Katia and Ian wanted to maximise storage, so we elegantly and discreetly placed drawers everywhere we could. And then, there’s the BBQ. Extraction was a challenge, but we found a way to run this from the centre of the house without effecting the look and feel. we are so proud of this project, and we know Ian and Katia are too, they have since invited us to apply our skills to three bathrooms, two bedrooms, an office and a utility room.
