I started The Fat Radish Kitchen Company because I love giving people the kitchens they deserve, and getting to know them along the way.
It says a lot that most of our customers are still friends long after we are all done.
From years spent as an apprentice along side two seasoned carpenters, working on installations, I gravitated towards the finer parts of cabinetry. I think it was ingrained (no pun) as my grandad was a cabinet maker. You really need to have a love for the craft to do this type of work and I certainly have that.
I'm also driven by proving that bespoke kitchens don't have to cost the earth, and off-the shelf chipboard boxes aren't always the cheapest option.
We strive to give people a kitchen they love, that works beautifully, shows their personality, fits their life and lasts a good long time.
In a world of buy online, mass-produced everything, it gives me so much pleasure that I make something that will last. Something to give the owners years and years of joy.
The result of working together and exploring ideas. Expressing their style, getting the most for their budget. Building the heart of their home.
Our company and team has been going from strength to strength since 2017. There are 5 of us now, Eddie, Nick, Sam and Stu, and Steve who joins us for some projects (plus the dogs Chisel and Hank), we are proud to have a long list of happy clients and quality projects to our name.
Speaking of the name – as I'm always asked – an eatery in New York that gave me everything I wanted my company to display: character, warmth, brilliant products, skill and fair prices.
I left the Fat Radish on the Lower East Side inspired, saying, 'when I start my Cabinet Makers, I'll call it The Fat Radish.'
